When looking for your electricity supplier in the UK
One of the first things that you are going to have to check out is their energy supplier npower. They have been around for a long time and have a lot of experience in providing energy to people. Their prices are good, and you will have to pay a lot less than you would elsewhere.
Npower is the leading provider of electricity in the UK. You will see this when you are generating a power meter reading that is lower than their national average. This is because they have a fantastic deal with the Scottish Referendum. Scotland had to apply to the European Union for more power than they received from England. Scottish energy had to get special tariffs to make up for this.
ensuring that you switch to a green energy
If Scotland had not applied for European Union membership then they would have received far lower tariffs, and thus the Scottish Power Company was left with a lot of excess capacity. Because of this they needed to reduce costs and so they introduced some policies that were attractive to customers. One of these was the incentive package where customers who took out a new Direct Debit account during the year would receive a free month of energy back. Also, a high proportion of energy suppliers offer prepayment tariffs. These allow customers to pay a small amount every month for up to five years and thus completely avoiding the need for a full year’s payment.
One way that you can make sure that you avoid paying too much for energy is by ensuring that you switch to a green energy supplier when you move house. There are two different types of green energy tariffs that you have to look at. You can either take advantage of a ‘fee for performance’ type of tariff or a ‘green energy tariff’ which has no charges at all until your energy efficiency rating is above 25%. However you have to remember that even if you take out a green energy tariff your previous provider may still give you a discount so you should always check this.
Once you have verified that you have switched to an energy efficient provider then you can relax
A bit about your electricity costs as things will only increase from then on. Some of the top UK electricity providers also have onshore windfarms that you can choose to buy electricity from as well as other forms of renewable energy. This is what is known as a ‘roof access’ tariff which means that you don’t need to worry about paying anything extra for electricity as you use it from the roof of your home. The main providers of this form of energy in the UK are EPC Renewable Energy, Scottish Power, Npower and Euan Climate.
As you can see, switching to one of the top UK energy providers is a great way to start saving money on your energy supply. However there are of course many more companies that offer the same services. When choosing one of them it’s important that you check how they work and look carefully at any deals and prepayment tariffs they may offer. It’s very important to compare these before making a choice, as you could end up saving much more than you imagined if you choose the best deal for you.
